Yarraville's Hidden Hellenism
This project represents our first ever mural project. Here, we incorporated ancient Greek symbologies to tell the story of Yarraville's Greek migrant history.
Thaleia (left), goddess of comedy, celebrates the Greek Cinema history in town. Dionysus (central), god of hospitality, serves to represent the eateries and cafes that introduced the Greek people to the mainstream. Hermes (right), the protector of the travellor, represents the migration journey in its whole.
This mural remains untouched til today.
Project lead: Dean Kotsianis
Collaborators: Resio (design, installation).
Sponsors: Maribyrnong City Council, Access Hire Equipment, Toorak Law Pty Ltd, Eleni's Kitchen and Bar, Olive Oil and Butter.
